So my super generous husband gave me a Coach certificate for a Christmas present (he subscribes to the school of thought put so eloquently on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey": "A happy wife is a happy life". But of course as many of you who appreciate quality bags probably know, Coach isn't cheap, especially if you want something bigger enough to put more in than your cellphone & tic-tacs. So part of my justification for spending more than what he so generously gave me in the gift certificate, so that I could get the bag I really really really wanted, was that the fact that I could put bottles in the 2 side pockets & throw some baby stuff in the main part if I didnt want to look like a bag lady and carry my purse & the diaper bag in somewhere. I know shame shame for not saving some of the extra money & putting it in the "college" fund or something of the sort, but hey an occasional splurge such as this beautiful one keeps me happy and without that sometimes, not sure if the 3 of us will make it thru alive 'till Julian is college age! Justifying frivolous expenditures in the name of your children

First post-Inspiration

I want to start this blog w/one of my inspirations for this mission. Gwen Stefani is to me & always will be the uber cool mom that seems to be totally into her family but still maintains her own identity, career & interests. And her sense of style & flair for fashion have not suffered as it can for many of us, in her busy life w/kids. But she still looks comfortable enough to get down in the sand & play with the kids at the same time. On a purely fashion note, I do have to say I probably would have worn a tank under this sheer pull over but still she looks so fab! I hope to be half as cool a mum as she.
